Bently Holdings is driven by the hearts and minds of everyone who has a career here. Learn more about the eclectic backgrounds of our people.
Christopher's career began in music and sound production. Through his late twenties, he thrived as a musician before switching gears towards his other passion: architecture and historical buildings. His first property, a historic survivor of the 1906 earthquake on Union Square, was in need of much attention. With patient investment he brought this treasure back to life and it was recently awarded LEED Gold Certification. Christopher continues to revitalize many historic properties including San Francisco's old Federal Reserve Bank, now called the Bently Reserve.
As an avid environmentalist, Christopher insists on nothing less than exemplary green operating fundamentals in every one of the Bently Enterprises companies. Christopher is currently creating a fully organic and sustainable ranching practice in Nevada's beautiful Carson Valley.
Christopher moved to San Francisco in 1984 and says "there are two things that make this City great: its open-armed acceptance of people from all walks of life, and its stalwart care for its citizen's quality of life." A long time patron of the arts, Christopher has served on many boards supporting the arts and the environment, including the Black Rock Arts Foundation, the Burning Man Project, Global Green, and the Point Reyes Bird Observatory.
His next venture is to restore a turn of the century brick mill and creamery into a hub for culture and drive the local economy without driving development.
"I see no sense in building new structures when we have beautiful historic properties left abandoned. We need a sense of tradition and worth brought back to our culture. A disposable world just won't do."
